The most valuable player
I have not felt a rogue was the most valuable player of any tournament comp about luna gold. In the case of RMP it was always up to the mage to get off his CCs, dishing out enough damage while staying alive. The rogue shadow step spec was low damage, high survivability and at end of the day, I could not see any tangible difference between say, Decks the golden child. If you were slow by a global or two, it was really not a big deal because your healer could still pick you up. You were just there to set up your mages shatters for the most part. Real was able to win his first ever title as a rogue, when he had far less experience playing the class than his peers.
The skill cap of the rogue class actually went up despite playing a simpler spec in walk. The rogue is now the focal point of his team defense. The game is much faster paced where every single global can be the difference between life and death. You are either the primary or secondary kill target for every team you are up against. The little plays that didn’t mean much individually in TBC mean everything here in WOTLK. Any rogue above 2000 can do everything I listed above on occasions, but doing it consistently while staying alive and coordinating your bursts, it is much more difficult.
